UPDATE: If you’re attending either seminar, see bottom of post for parking details.
With every mile you log, you are training your body to go the distance. But, what about your brain?
If, as they say, running is 90% mental, then training your brain should be equally as important as training your body. And that’s why we’re partnering with a team of sports psychologists to help you mentally prepare for this year’s race.
Over the next few months, we’re hosting two interactive, pre-race seminars to introduce you to the marathon “Psych Team.” (Bonus: The team will also be part of our Health and Fitness Expo in October, plus they’ll be out along the course on race day to offer you encouragement when the going gets tough!) Each seminar will provide you with the opportunity to discuss things like positive self-talk, how to get pumped up without getting too pumped up, how to get through tough training patches and how to ensure your physical practice pays off on race day.
The seminars will be held on Saturday, August 10 and Saturday, September 21, each beginning at noon at the Goodwill Columbus headquarters (1331 Edgehill Drive, Columbus – right on the Columbus Marathon course!). We’ll offer light refreshments, water and soft drinks at both.
