Even though we can’t be there to hit the pavement with you, we love to see & hear how your race prep is going. That’s why we’re partnering with six runners to serve as “Instagram Ambassadors” this year and give us a glimpse of their training adventures.
Starting next week, we’ll share our ambassadors’ photos on Instagram throughout the week and post a recap here each Friday. Until then, head over to Instagram and meet the 2013 Columbus Marathon Instagram Ambassadors:
Christina Christian (@ChristinaCbus): Known around Columbus as the face of Yelp!, Christina is the organization’s community manager for Columbus. Since running her first marathon in 2009, she has participated in races around the world, including the Dresden Marathon last year as a Columbus Marathon athlete ambassador. She’ll be running the full this year.
James Craig (@j_anthony_): James has lived in Pittsburgh for more than 15 years now, but he’ll return to his home state this year to run his third full marathon. Once a “hater,” James started running after being challenged by a close friend. Now, he “loves the torture” and is excited to complete his next race.
JD Pooley (@jdpooley): Runner, husband and father of three wonderful children, JD Pooley is chief photographer at the Sentinel-Tribune in Bowling Green, Ohio. JD is training for his first full marathon.
Jenna Hatfield (@firemom): Jenna lives in Cambridge, Ohio, with her husband and two sons. An editor by day, she can never get enough words so she blogs about family life at Stop, Drop & Blog. Jenna is running the half marathon this year.
Lindsay Meeker (@traininglindsay): Lindsay has been sharing her year-long marathon and weightless journey for all to read and has lost 48 pounds since January. This year, she’s running her first 26.2 on her 26th birthday (and in her hometown!) to honor and fundraise for her dad who has Huntington’s Disease.
Ty Godwin (@seekingbostonmarathon): Ty lives and trains in Colorado, but he’ll travel to Columbus in October to run the full marathon. Ty started his blog, SeekingBostonMarathon.com, to hold himself accountable for qualifying and running the Boston Marathon. He plans to run his fourth in April 2014.
