Sure, JD Pooley has a Garmin watch that records every step he takes, but in his opinion, nothing can beat a sheet of paper with his training plan on it.
Lindsay Meeker uses a New Balance heart rate monitor to pace herself. “Nothing worse than pushing too hard with several miles to go!” she says. Lindsay also uses a Body Media armband to track her everyday fitness & activity (Bonus: It links to other health & fitness apps on her phone, plus monitors sleep and tracks her daily steps/calories burnt!), and says “It has been instrumental in my weight loss and training!”
Jenna Hatfield’s training tech trifecta? Her Garmin Forerunner 10 for pacing, Fitbit Flex for tracking her steps and iPhone 5 for safety (and socializing with RunKeeper!).
