Tip #25: The Only Thing Left to Do After You Cross the Finish Line: CELEBRATE!

As we put the final preparations in place for this year’s race, we’ll be sharing “26 Tips for 26.2 Miles” to make sure you’re ready to go on race day. Click here to read them all, or follow along on FacebookTwitterPinterest and Instagram.Tip 25 - Finish Line

We are officially down to the final six days before the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon & 1/2 Marathon! That’s right, folks – at this time next week, you’ll have crossed both the Start and Finish Lines and all your training, hard work and dedication will have paid off.

The only thing left to do once you’ve crossed the Finish Line? Celebrate, of course! Today’s tip: Join us in Celebration Village after the race to applaud your accomplishments.

Once you cross the Finish Line, keep moving to receive your medal, a space blanket and snacks. Then, head over to Celebration Village and join the post-race party!

There will be plenty of fun things to explore and enjoy in Celebration Village, including FREE post-race massages, a jumbo screen with a camera on the Finish Line, bounce houses, giveaways and promotional booths. Plus, OK, Maybe .. and SWAGG will be there to bring the noise and welcome athletes back from their journey.

There will also be signs up throughout Celebration Village that designate where athletes can reunite with their family and friends based on the first letter of their last name.

Finally, the YMCA Downtown (located at 40 West Long Street) will open at 6 a.m. on race day and have showers available post-race for $2. There will also be a healthy café open with fruits and protein shakes, etc. available for purchase. Runners can stretch and use restrooms in their facility for free.

How will you celebrate your 13.1 or 26.2 after the race? Let us know on Facebook, Twitter, or in the comments below!
