As we put the final preparations in place for this year’s race, we’re sharing “26 Tips for 26.2 Miles” to make sure you’re ready to go on race day. Click here to read them all, or follow along on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.
For every person who participates in a marathon or ½ marathon, there are dozens of people who helped provide support to make the journey possible. For those people at the race or thousands of miles away, the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon & ½ Marathon wants to make it easy to share your progress in real-time.
Registration for Real-Time Race Tracking is now available for participants, family and friends. You can get progress reports texted to your mobile phone, or you can have it posted directly to your Facebook or Twitter feeds. Participants in the race can have reports on their progress automatically tweeted, posted to Facebook and/or texted from five checkpoints (start, five miles, 13.1 miles, 20 miles and finish.)
Oh, and did we mention that you and those tracking you can now access all that information via the RTRT.me app? Online Runner Tracking for the full marathon and the 1/2 marathon is also available. (NOTE: this link will not be working until race time)
- To download the all-new RTRT mobile app, please click here.
- To register for updates via the RTRT/Nationwide Columbus Marathon & 1/2 Marathon web page, please click here.
There are other popular features including:
Leaderboard: Provides times and current pace, usually within 10 seconds of a participant crossing a split point. After the first split, estimated times for the next point and finish will also be provided (based on current pace). Visit the web tracker on either an iOS or Android device for mobile optimized experience, or find this event in the RTRT.me Mobile App for an even better mobile experience.
Real-time Facebook/Twitter Notifications: Automatic posting as progress is made on the course. As a spectator, the times of the person you are tracking can be posted to your Facebook/Twitter feed automatically, allowing friends and family to share in the excitement. If you are a participant, claim your profile and enable Facebook/Twitter notifications. Your stats will post live as you pass each checkpoint.
Text Notifications: Sign up online to have splits texted to your mobile phone via SMS. PLEASE NOTE: Facebook/Twitter/Text results are UNOFFICIAL! Official results will be posted upon completion of the event.
Mobile App: Download the Mobile App at here. Features include Live Participant Tracking with Push Notifications, Leaderboards, Map Tracking, Event Messages and more.
NOTE: If you’re registering for the marathon after 10/5, it will take up to 7 days for your information to be transmitted to our RTRT team, so you may not be able to register for RTRT immediately. Those registering at the Health & Fitness Expo will not be able to set up their Real-Time Race Tracking until Saturday evening.
We want as many people as possible to share in your success. Let Real-Time Race Tracking do the work for you on Race Day.
